What is this?
This software is yet another tool for Japanese kanji learning. The main characteristics are:
- It follows a somewhat guided learning approach. The tool "follows" the progression of the users and controls which kanji should be studied next. It may sound fancy, but it's really unsophisticated.
- It's organized according the JLPT levels. Kanji are classified from JLPT4 to JLPT1. However, I don't consider it a tool for just "passing the test"; the emphasys is really on getting a good grasp of the kanji. I hope this objective is achieved to some extent.
- The strong point of this tool should be the practice exercises presented to the user. The lack of exercises in other tools is what lead to the development of this software (sorry if I just missed something!). Therefore, feedback and new ideas on this point is specially welcome.
Since version 0.4, full data files are proviced, covering all the kanji for the four JLPT levels, as well as a large vocabulary and stroke order diagrams (see this section for more details).
The project is hosted in Sourceforge.
Don't take the name of the project too seriously, I sort of enjoy studying kanji.
